White Ginger Lily flowers line the path to the house. The scent is like a perfume shop. All heady and sweet and a little intoxicating.
But the blossoms only last a day.
Once I saw a photo of an enormous, beautiful design drawn in the dew on a monastery lawn. By the time to monk creating it was finishing the elaborate pattern, the morning sun was drying up the dew.
Beauty is fleeting. Notice it. Treasure it. Be present. Put away your thoughts and connect with what is right in front of you. Life is an endless parade of moments. We don't live in the past, nor in the future, but always in the present. So today, focus on getting out of your head and into your world. It is a beautiful gift. Let it fill you. Breath deeply. After all, the fragrance of the flowers grounds us, settles us, and reminds us of why we are here.
